FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

IS YOUR PRODUCE ORGANIC?

We're not USDA-certified, however, we believe in transparency and take pride in health as wealth. We avoid using chemicals and pesticides on everything we grow. For more helpful information on this topic, we encourage our customers to read this article, published by The University of Berkeley California.

HOW DO YOU CONTROL WEEDS?

We believe in taking a sustainable and conscious approach. We don't "battle" nature as much as we embrace her ways. Some of these plants are beneficial and even contain the ability to ward off harmful imposters. We monitor for any overgrowth, but for the most part, allow any beneficial plant species to provide a helping hand.

DO YOU FERTILIZE? IF SO, WHAT TYPE DO YOU USE?

We believe in practicing sustainable and conscious farming. The closer we get to nature, the better for everyone involved: humans, animals and the planet we share. We rely on using high-quality mulch and animal fresh manure. The very things that contain fertile conditions for nutrient rich soil.

HOW DO WE TAKE CARE OF PEST CONTROL?

While we consider cultural control methods, sometimes localized traps are used to help maintain the quality of our environment. The occasional snake can be found making its way through and we like to think they're just playing a helpful hand in pest control.

WHAT DOES QUALITY MEAN TO US?

It is with firm belief that our safe and conscious farming practices will leave you tasting and feeling the difference. All produce (especially fruit) is grown by the season, harvested tree-ripened and treated with care. We feel very fortunate to be located in a climate that's conducive for growing our foods under such wonderfully natural conditions. Just as mother nature intended.

DO YOU OFFER DELIVERY SERVICES?

Absolutely. We're happy to offer delivery services to all wholesale orders in San Diego County.

SO HOW ARE YOU DIFFERENT FROM OTHER FARMERS?

We like to think we're all in this together and have something to learn from each other as a whole. We're a small family owned and operated business with twenty-five years plus experience that started with humble beginnings. We continually incorporate conscious practices wherever possible and believe the more we align ourselves with nature, the better our results. As our business expands so do our methods but we pride ourselves in staying true to growing quality produce by the season that your body can taste and feel. Health is wealth and we're happy to serve our local community.

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BUYING FROM LOCAL FARMS VS "BIGGER NAME" GROCERY STORES?

While there are a number of things to consider, one of the biggest differences is nutritive quality. Much of the produce at these larger stores require longer "transition times" which means produce (especially fruit) is picked unripe. The most overlooked aspect of this is nutritive value, taste and flavor. When you purchase directly, you'll be getting more nutritive value from your produce, and thus, feeling more satiated and satisfied when consuming. Our harvest times take this into consideration so you get your time and moneys worth.
